MODERATION IN DEFENSE OF TRUTH IS A SERVICE RENDERED TO LIE

describes a society without freedom and without truthIn the post-totalitarian system, therefore, living within the truth has more than a mere existential dimension (returning humanity to its inherent nature), or a noetic dimension (revealing reality as it is), or a moral dimension (setting an example for others). It also has an unambiguous political dimension. If the main pillar of the system is living a lie, then it is not surprising that the fundamental threat to it is living the truth. This is why it must be suppressed more severely than anything else."

0:06 welcome to a special edition of America 0:08 uncancelled we had the great honor as 0:10 Matt has mentioned a meeting with a 0:12 delegation of members of Congress from 0:14 Brazil as well as journalist and 0:16 activist and joining me now is Balo 0:18 figaredo he's a journalist one of the 0:21 top journalists from Brazil that now 0:23 you're living in Florida tell us your 0:24 story I've been Liv in Florida for the 0:26 best part of the last decade but now 0:28 it's different because because now I 0:30 leave under Exile can go back to Brazil 0:32 why uh well it's uh they decided that to 0:36 seize my passport cancel my passport 0:38 they blocked all my social media 0:39 accounts in Brazil you can access them 0:41 normally if you're here in the US but if 0:43 you're in Brazil uh you can't access any 0:46 of my U social media and I used to have 0:48 like five million followers decent 0:51 following um and they froze all my bank 0:54 accounts they issued a fine for every 0:56 time I said what year did they do that 0:57 was it following uh when president Lula 1:00 was brought into office so until uh 1:03 January 2023 I had the number one show 1:06 on prime time TV cable TV cable TV uh 1:10 roughly 1.5 million viewers every day we 1:14 used to beat CNN Brazil by 1:18 twofold all the competitors were really 1:20 leading the viewership right uh but then 1:23 on January uh after Lula took off as the 1:26 Department of Justice opened an 1:28 investigation against the station I used 1:29 to work for and which station is that 1:32 it's it's it's called javing Uh JP news 1:35 uh sometimes it's known like that here 1:37 in the US and they had to fire all the 1:39 conservative commentators my colleague 1:41 who you met Mark Antonio looks like 1:44 Superman he was he was uh he was fire at 1:47 the same time so they had to 1:49 change the whole process on how to do 1:52 journalism in there so they wouldn't 1:54 have their concession uh canceled by the 1:56 government so it's it was a very 1:59 powerful thing and obviously you all 2:01 were questioning and critical of the of 2:03 the Lula Lula government and did that 2:06 obviously had a huge impact on Lula 2:09 taking action in the administration and 2:11 obviously the Supreme Court taking 2:13 action walk us through I think it's 2:15 really important to understand for 2:17 Americans um because we're seeing this 2:19 weaponization of our own uh Judicial 2:22 System we call it laware as well what is 2:25 happening in Brazil in terms of the 2:27 Supreme Court and how they have become 2:30 really uh judicial activists to take 2:32 down political opponents I like to play 2:35 with this a little bit saying that the 2:36 ideas come from the United States 2:38 actually really it does yes we thought 2:41 it was coming from you know China no 2:43 you're saying it's coming from the US it 2:45 comes specifically most of them comes 2:47 from Harvard Law School if Believe It or 2:49 Not uh not surprised I like saying that 2:52 Harvard Law School is like the woan lab 2:53 for a virus right uh and the virus is 2:56 spread around the world some countries 2:58 have immune systems or stronger than 3:00 others so Brazil has a very weak immune 3:02 system so the virus get there and 3:04 destroy the country completely this 3:06 virus I'm talking about is it's called 3:09 juristocracy so it's the substitution of 3:11 a democracy which is a government by the 3:13 people to a government by the 3:15 bureaucrats non-elected bureaucrats it's 3:18 it's a beautiful thing for the 3:19 globalists because they don't have they 3:21 don't have to go through the very uh 3:24 slow process of the democratic 3:26 government that you have to pass a bill 3:28 you have to El 3:30 members of Congress members of the the 3:33 city hall you have to elect the 3:35 president and you have all these checks 3:37 and balance this so complicated so they 3:39 can go through a bunch just a small 3:41 group of Judges or justices that they 3:44 control if they don't control directly 3:47 the influence they're always meeting um 3:50 if you look at dav's meeting the world 3:52 economic Forum right Brazilian most 3:54 important representative was the 3:56 president which is like the Chief 3:58 Justice of our suprem court right well 4:02 you all came over to the United States 4:03 with a large delegation I mean really 4:06 taking a risk political risk to come 4:08 here because we know that uh Lula and 4:10 the and these justices are targeting you 4:13 all and so you brought them here you met 4:16 with members of Congress what is the 4:18 response coming from the Republicans and 4:21 from the Democrats on listening to your 4:23 case and what's happening in Brazil in 4:25 terms of political persecution and 4:27 censorship well we're starting to get 4:28 some traction with the Republicans most 4:30 of them were not aware of what was going 4:32 on right um and I blame the mainstream 4:35 media uh for that Brazil only has uh 4:39 correspondents from The New York Times 4:41 Washington Post and CNN so you're not 4:43 getting news from them they block 4:45 anything that happened in Brazil we held 4:47 a press conference they decided not to 4:48 show up they they uh decide not to cover 4:52 it it's part of their tactic so that's 4:54 why most of the United States don't know 4:56 what's going on in Brazil they still 4:57 think Brazil is a democracy so uh we're 5:00 starting to get some traction some 5:01 awareness with the Republicans and it 5:04 looks like the Democrats know what's 5:05 going on right but they like it that's 5:08 it was part of their plan so we had this 5:11 hearing scheduled for the Tom Lantos 5:13 commission uh with a that was brought by 5:17 uh Congressman Chris Smith republican 5:19 from New Jersey and then Congressman Jim 5:23 uh McGovern mcgn right decided to block 5:26 it and he received a phone call I guess 5:28 from someone any reason did they give a 5:30 reason why they blocked it they did not 5:32 they did not they one day from the other 5:35 uh they just they said they received a 5:37 phone call someone received a phone call 5:39 and they flipped their position 5:40 completely and then McGovern was very 5:43 determined to make it not happen so we 5:45 know President Biden has met with 5:47 President Lula 5:49 it obviously they view Brazil as an 5:52 important trading partner but it seems 5:53 that the Biden Administration is not 5:55 willing to be critical at all of these 5:57 Draconian actions taken by President 6:00 Lula and and the Supreme Court against 6:03 their political opponents is that the 6:05 sense that you're getting from the Biden 6:06 Administration well the Biden 6:07 Administration I think sometimes they're 6:09 a little disappointed with the way that 6:11 Lula is behaving because um they they 6:14 thought that and they actually vocalized 6:16 that there was a representative of the 6:18 Department of State that said look we 6:20 helped you we helped to preserve your 6:22 democracy why you being so anti-American 6:25 because even the Biden administration's 6:27 policies the the uh Lula is being 6:31 completely antagonistic if you think 6:34 about the what Lula is trying to do with 6:35 the bricks trying to undermine the 6:37 dollar as the Global Currency uh for 6:40 trade uh he's working actively to 6:42 support Hamas I think now he's the most 6:45 important leader in the The Free World 6:48 uh that is openly supporting Hamas 6:51 against Israel so and if you go to even 6:54 if you look at Russia Brazil is now 6:57 Brazil last year uh spent six billion 6:59 ion dollar buying u oil from Russia so 7:03 all the policies all the foreign 7:04 policies of Lula are antagonistic of 7:07 what Joe Biden in I don't know what he 7:11 trying to do I don't know if he does I 7:12 think he's asleep half the time or 7:14 falling downstairs but I think China you 7:17 you have the problem with Brazil 7:19 attaching itself to China to Russia to 7:21 Iran I mean all of them us enemies I 7:25 mean is is what's the next step I mean 7:28 if they're going to try to trample on 7:29 political opponents if they're going to 7:31 try to put Zer balso in jail what is the 7:35 next step for the political opposition 7:37 well you you have two visions of the 7:39 world and America is not the perfect 7:41 place I think we've seen better days yes 7:44 uh but still if you you can compare 7:46 America and China it's two different 7:48 completely views of the world and like 7:51 it or not you're going to be influenced 7:52 by one of them and you have to pick a 7:54 sign it's like the cold war in a sense 7:56 it's a new Cold War right Brazil 7:58 speaking China side 8:00 and it that's very important for 8:02 geopolitical reasons I keep saying war 8:05 is people food iron and energy so Brazil 8:08 is the fourth largest food producer in 8:10 the 8:11 world all most of the food that China 8:13 eats comes from Brazil uh Brazil is the 8:15 second iron War producer in the world 8:17 Brazil has more energy than most opap 8:20 country produces more oil than most opap 8:22 countries and also Brazil as fifth or 8:26 sixth largest population in the world so 8:28 from a geopolitical perspective Brazil 8:29 is very important China knows it and 8:32 they're bringing Brazil closer to them 8:34 and on the flip side Brazil is becoming 8:36 more and more like China we now have the 8:38 Supreme Court just yesterday they 8:40 announced that they're going to have 8:41 police powers to get data from every 8:44 internet user on social media and they 8:46 will use police power to enforce uh the 8:50 laws against their they don't exist but 8:53 in their mind it does the laws against 8:55 misinformation the laws against to 8:57 protect the electoral process protect 8:59 yeah you can't question anything you 9:01 can't question that's China that is 9:03 that's not the vision well it's 9:04 happening here in the US I mean you seen 9:06 the Biden Administration the same virus 9:08 uh you know basically connecting with 9:11 these social media companies and pushing 9:13 and saying this is misinformation this 9:15 is not it's interesting because our 9:16 Supreme Court is taking up that issue we 9:19 don't know how they're going to rule yet 9:21 but there is a little more of the checks 9:22 and balances which it sounds in the case 9:24 of Brazil the Supreme Court is like yep 9:26 we're going to have to we're going to 9:28 allow for this to happen you're 9:30 absolutely right so this is exactly what 9:32 happened and the idea is the same we 9:35 need to censor political opposition 9:38 right in the US it was done by the Deep 9:40 State operatives working on Twitter and 9:44 the saw the Twitter file the Facebook 9:46 file they were there they were censoring 9:48 stories they were censoring the hunter 9:49 Biden laptop laptop story and a bunch of 9:52 stories that could change the result of 9:53 the elections in Brazil this is 9:55 happening officially it's not something 9:57 behind the scenes it's happen sponsored 10:00 by the Supreme Court like I said it's 10:02 the same virus but we have different 10:04 immune systems and and and this is very 10:06 sad so just a last question here for 10:09 Biden is is it the call to for sanctions 10:12 what should Joe Biden's Administration 10:14 do immediately I don't think our 10:16 congressmen can say that and I think 10:17 they would disagree with me but since 10:19 this since this is my country as well 10:21 now and it had been for for a long time 10:24 United States I can say that the United 10:25 States cannot treat Brazil as is still a 10:28 democracy this country has a standard in 10:30 foreign policy to to treat dictatorships 10:33 as dictatorships so sanctions you have 10:36 to cut Aid and you have to exert 10:38 pressure soft power uh in in order to 10:41 restore democracy and the fundamental 10:43 rights in Brazil you have to do it for 10:44 two reases the first one is human rights 10:47 so we we're all part of a global 10:49 Community the good one that protects 10:51 human rights and America has been the 10:54 sponsor for this for for over a century 10:57 yeah and that's one reason we need to 10:59 restore human rights in Brazil but the 11:01 second reason is to protect American 11:02 interests because you're if you think 11:05 America First you you need to think that 11:08 you don't want Brazil going the China 11:10 way you need Brazil you need your allies 11:12 you need your allies in a war we we we 11:14 learned that in World War II that you 11:16 need your allies you can handle 11:18 everything yourself no matter how great 11:20 America is and and so that's why I think 11:24 the United States government needs to 11:27 redirect its foreign policy against 11:29 Brazil well we're hoping uh that we can 11:31 do CPAC Brazil do you think that's a 11:33 possibility I think we can it would be I 11:36 believe the fifth edition right right uh 11:38 and CPAC the amazing thing about CAC is 11:41 that I've been coming to CPAC since uh I 11:43 believe 2017 so I I saw all the changes 11:46 on the event and it's becoming more and 11:48 more a global event yes this year was 11:50 beautiful we had a chance to to hear Bou 11:53 we had the chance to hear again Eduardo 11:55 bonaro last year we had president J 11:57 bonaro is there as well uh and and then 12:00 we had mle which which shows there 12:02 there's hope for the southern emisphere 12:05 so CAC is becoming the hub for the 12:08 lovers of freedom and lovers of common 12:11 sense because that's right now what 12:13 we're fighting for that's right and 12:14 that's exactly what president Trump says 12:16 he said uh I'm you know I might not be a 12:18 conservative but I'm about common sense 12:20 so I I we absolutely agree and we uh 12:22 support the efforts that you're doing 12:23 and we're all going to fight together 12:25 for Freedom Pao Figo thank you so much 12:27 for joining me thank you Mercy really 12:29 appreciate it and we're going to keep on 12:31 this important topic of Brazil so keep 12:34 watching uh look I know it's interesting 12:36 because everyone wants to be so America 12:38 focused at the same time we have to 12:40 remember that things that happen not 12:42 only here in America but they expand 12:44 this idea of communism Marxism 12:47 dictatorships that destroy people's 12:49 freedoms uh we have to be aware we have 12:51 to be United and we all have to fight 12:53 back so thanks for watching
