Um dos convidados exclamou: "Parece que você sabe alguma coisa que não sabemos."

"Sim, é verdade", ela respondeu. "Esta não é uma conversa fiada. Ele já nasceu, e ele foi educado e está sendo preparado para ser presidente agora. Não tenho nenhuma dúvida: ele é um de nós ". Ela o descreveu como "um comunista", cujo pai era um Africano preto e cuja mãe era branca. "Tudo foi pensado. Seu pai não é um negro americano, então ele não terá o estigma social do escravo. Ele é inteligente e ele é metade branco e tem sido preparado desde o berço para ser ateu e comunista. Ele foi para as melhores escolas. Fife estava um pouco tomado por seu discurso que ele encontrou convincente e indiscutível. O que o impressionou mais do que qualquer outra coisa não foi tanto o que ela disse, mas a confiança com que ela falou e descreveu-a como uma autoridade sobre o assunto que falou com comando. Embora alguns dos russos no atendimento limpassem a garganta e fizeram pequenos sinais para ela se calar, eles não se atreveram a interromper o discurso, como se ela tivesse um ar de "poder" sobre ela. Felizmente sua vaidade levou a melhor sobre ela, para que o seu maior inimigo, América, pudesse saber a verdade.
