O PT estĂĄ adestrando os brasileiros para que aceitem dele, com docilidade canina, doses faraĂŽnicas de tudo aquilo que mesmo em quantidades mĂnimas os indignava e enfurecia nos governos anteriores.
THE TECHNIQUE OF CYNICISM TO PRODUCE PASSIVITY IN THE FACE OF ABSURDITIES Pedagogical cynicism Olavo de Carvalho 2006
The PT (Workers' Party) is training Brazilians to accept from it, with canine docility, pharaonic doses of everything that, even in minimal quantities, outraged and enraged them in previous governments.
The cynicism with which the accused smile at the accusations – MensalĂŁo (monthly allowance scandal), assassinations, biological terrorism, partnership with drug traffickers, invasion of Congress, the devil – does not stem from natural brazenness. It is a pedagogical technique, well known since Lenin, calculated to break the mental resistance of the people through successive shocks, until they become accustomed to an inverted ethic, in which crime and cheating, as long as they are practiced by an ideologically approved agency, become sources of moral authority.
If applied once or twice, the trick would provoke hatred instead of submission. It must be repeated, in increasing doses, until the despair of reason begins to see in resignation to the absurd the only hope of relief.
It is also necessary that the blows do not hit just one point, but, varying the direction of the attack, give an impression of suffocating omnipresence, sudden and devastating like a swarm of locusts. All sectors of life must be beset by a simultaneous bombardment of new rules, each one senseless and ridiculous in itself, but terrible and frightening as a whole and in the sudden arrogance with which they impose themselves. Overnight, everything is reversed. Owning a farm is a crime; invading and burning it is a right and a duty. The representative system is oppression; violence is democracy. To revolt against government abuses is McCarthyist persecution; silencing the opposition is freedom. Murderers and thieves are victims; their victims are criminals.
After a few years of this treatment, all resistance begins to crumble. The malice of the operation is so immense, the psychological cruelty that inspires it is so obviously diabolical, that even well-structured souls refuse to believe in such perversity. Then, like terrified children, they invent another, more gentle reality, and swear to themselves that they are living within it. And it is precisely there that they become harmless and docile, as planned.
